I come from Germany and Iīm a huge Charles Bronson Fan. I have all his original DVDīs with the exception of "Telefon" and "The Stone Killer".
I even have the excellent japanese DVDīs "The White Buffalo" and "From Noon till Three".
I have a question. A lot of Charles Bronson movies such as: Telefon, The Stone Killer, Borderline, The White Buffalo, From Noon Till Three, CaboBlanco and so on havenīt been released on DVD in the USA. Why?
All Clint Eastwood movies have been released on DVD in the USA!!!
Why canīt the studios release all Bronson movies? I donīt understand this. He was such a huge star and the studios donīt find it necessary to release the movies of an action icon!
Yes Charles Bronson was a huge star. But When an actor gets old and dies, his work gets swiftly forgotten by the promoters and also the average age of Bigfans of Charles Bronson would be somewhere in their 40s +.And older people wouldnt know how use a Dvd player. So I guess there would not be a huge market for Bronson Dvds.
LET ME EXPLAIN MY OPINION WHY THEY HAVE NOT RELEASED ALL OF BRONSON'S FILMS ON DVD, IT IS THE SAME REASON IT TOOK HIM SO LONG TO BECOME A STAR HERE IN THE U.S. CHARLIE IS NO DOUBT ONE OF THE MOST UNDERRATED ACTORS IN HOLLYWOOD HISTORY. HE HAS NEVER GOT THE CREDIT HE DESERVES. ALL THE PRODUCERS ALWAYS THOUGHT CLINT EASTWOOD WAS THE TRUE STAR AND NOBODY WANTED TO GO SEE A BRONSON FILM, WELL MY OPINION IS THIS, I COULD CAREE LESS ABOUT EASTWOOD WITH THE EXCEPTION OF HIS WESTERNS, BUT WHEN IT COMES TO VIGILANTE MOVIES, THERE IS NONE BETTER IN THE HISTORY OF HOLLYWOOD THAN BRONSON. THAT IS A FACT, EASTWOOD DON'T COMPARE IN MY EYES, BUT BACK TO THE POINT, BRONSON WAS ALWAYS TREATED UNFAIRLY HERE IN THE U.S. SO NOW EVEN THOUGH HE IS PASSED AWAY THE ARE STILL NOT GIVING HIS MEMORY ENOUGH RESPECT BY PUTTING ALL HIS MOVIES OUT ON DVD. LETS HOPE THAT ONE DAY HE GETS THE PROPER RESPECT HIS LEGACY DESERVES.
A lotīs been said about the topic Bronson vs. Eastwood. Itīs like that old topic Iīve thought about so many times: Broson vs. Wayne.
In the second case, Bronson vs. Wayne, the most thrilling thing to think about is that Bronson worked wiht lots of movie stars but, incredibly, never with John Wayne.
Anyway, Iīd be writing in a Wayneīs chat if I wouldnīt think than Bronsonīs the greatest actor, the most believable acting person. In fact, he doesnīt seem to act, he was his characters, and I guess thatīs why his fans love the guy, because he made us believe that certain things like justice, coolness, and so on, was somehow possible in a chaotic world.
And as far as Bronson vs. Eastwood is concerned, in my opinion itīs not necessary to compare them: Bronson is the greatest actor, and Eastwood, with movies like Million dollar baby, and Unforgiven, is the best moviemaker. Each of them in his proper place. Master and commander is on that top too, but thatīs not the question.
The question is this: I write from Spain, and in Spain thereīs now a collection of DVDīs dedicated to Bronson. Iīve bought, so far, The great escape, Caboblanco, X-15, The mechanic, Murphyīs law, Deathwish, Cold sweat, Hot lead, Dirty dozen and Nevada express.
I like every Bronsonīs movie, even Twinky had a funny side.
